Literature Text

I walk slowly, down this path
Vultures circling, overhead
My feet on rocks, now touch stone
I climb the steps, so alone
Reach the summit, there stands a tree
The rope around, is meant for me
Clench my hand, I need a savior
But I walk forth, to the reaper
The sorrow, seen in my eyes
Grim is my fate, blessed in disguise
I reach out my hand, but touch no core
A savior? A savior?
A savior no more.
"death" "death" the vultures scream
I hear the words, deafening
And there, I feel a hand
Look up, there stands a man
My savior, risin from stone
Says one thing, "You are alone"
A poem I wrote about not always relying on someone else to save you. sometimes you are the only one that can save yourself.
